How I managed to go this long without finally seeing this truly gorgeous and imaginative show, I’ll likely never comprehend, but I recently received a chance to witness it for myself, all thanks to Armand and the most beautiful and thoughtful birthday gift imaginable. That’s truly the best way I could describe this incredible theater experience: beautiful.

A Triumphant Return to Broadway.

The 2024 revival of “Gypsy” starring the incomparable Audra McDonald is a masterclass in acting, singing, and emotional depth. McDonald’s portrayal of Mama Rose, the fiercely ambitious and complex mother of Gypsy Rose Lee, is nothing short of breathtaking.

I recently had the genuine privilege of attending a captivating performance of “Yellow Face,” a thought-provoking play that delves deeply into the complex and sensitive topic of Asian American identity and representation within the often challenging landscape of the entertainment industry. Starring the exceptionally talented Daniel Dae Kim, this production was enlightening and refreshingly timely.

Mia Farrow and Patti LuPone are two iconic names that, when mentioned together, will certainly entice anyone with a discerning taste for the theatre. Once you arrived at the performance venue, you were warmly welcomed and treated to a wonderful play that captivated the audience. Farrow shines brilliantly with a soft-spoken shyness that belies a deep sense of darkness and desperation as she portrays the unsuspecting character of Sharon, a woman who, after experiencing a painful divorce, takes in a mysterious roommate named Robyn.

I loved the movie Death Becomes Her, and I was initially unsure how its unique story would translate effectively as a musical. However, I’m thrilled to say it’s nothing short of fantastic. The production showcases the truly amazing performances by the incredibly talented Megan Hilty, Jennifer Simard, Michelle Williams, and Christopher Sieber, all of whom bring their respective characters to vibrant life, along with stunning, eye-catching costumes that create a dazzling world on stage. The time flew by—I had so much fun throughout the entire performance.

I had an absolute blast watching the wildly entertaining show, TEETH at New World Stages. At first, I was somewhat puzzled by the ponchos provided for the front-row attendees, but I quickly realized it was all part of the playful fun, as it turned out to be a splash zone!

There are so many things to say about this exceptional show. I was so lucky to get the chance to see it during previews. As I sat and watched the story progress, I found myself thinking about my relationship with not only technology but also other people and how it intertwines more than I think.

It was a visual feast for the eyes at the same time. Everything is uniform, and everything is monochrome in a sense. I loved it. It felt as if I were watching a film come to life before my eyes. It was beautifully done. It was so stripped down that you are forced to focus on the details in the performances—how it should be, I say.

McNeal takes the Oscar winner to some borrowing places and into ideas we are all figuring out in real time. A.I. is a touchy subject for most. The moralities behind it are called into question every day. It was very intriguing to see how the usage of A.I. was woven into this bleak story. McNeal is a man on borrowed time.

It is a simple concept that dives into grief, hope, faith & pain. What happens when six people go to grief counseling and their grief counselor doesn't show up? It seems so simple. Take a vote. They end up starting without their counselor but then with no one to facilitate properly, the class gets deeper than expected. It’s funny & thought-provoking.

It took me an entire week to figure out what I wanted to say here. I kept hearing about JOB as far back as May when I found out it would transfer to Broadway. In conversation with a few friends who’ve seen it, they would say little more than it’s about a woman in tech on the verge of a mental breakdown.

What I found interesting was the history I admittedly didn't know especially about the Mohawk who were prominent in the construction of this building. They were famed for their skywalking which helped get the building sky-high faster. Its a nice history lesson. I enjoyed that a lot as a person who loves to dig into history once she learns something new.

I always get a little sad talking about a show that closed (way too early I may add). I still wanted to share all the fun I had when I got to see it. I keep coming back to that word — fun. What is it about spaces that seem so stiff about fun? I loved this show. I loved its high energy and with a soundtrack full of Huey Lewis & the News…it was just so fun. We've gotta learn to have some more fun.

Wow. What a captivating, energizing & fun piece of theatre. From the mind of Alicia Keys comes the semi-autobiographical story of a girl named Ali. A 17-year-old girl on the verge of discovering her dreams & what her life could be. I loved this one. It brought me back to life in the ’90s and early 2000s instead of a piano gave me a pen and paper and it's almost the same.
