maybe ally...sees “TEETH”.
I had an absolute blast watching the wildly entertaining show, TEETH at New World Stages. At first, I was somewhat puzzled by the ponchos provided for the front-row attendees, but I quickly realized it was all part of the playful fun, as it turned out to be a splash zone!
I comfortably settled into my seat in the mezzanine, thoroughly enjoying the unexpected excitement that unfolded on stage. It's worth seeing the show to find out what exactly you get splashed with!! lol, The production, based on the intriguing 2007 film, follows the story of Dawn, a naive Christian girl hailing from a place called Eden who makes a shocking discovery—she has teeth in her vagina—which inevitably leads her into a series of chaotic and comedic situations.
I decided to watch it right after the election and truly appreciated its humor, especially since I had been feeling particularly frustrated with men during that time.
The vibrant pop-rock music served as a refreshing change, lightening the otherwise heavy themes of the film. The vibes were a delightful mix that felt reminiscent of “Carrie,” infused with an added touch of campiness akin to “Death Becomes Her.” Alyse Alan Louis excelled wonderfully in her role as Dawn, showcasing impeccable comedic timing that had both me and the audience erupting into laughter, often in genuine belly laughs. Andy Karl, who portrayed the Pastor, was wonderfully over the top, bringing an extra layer of hilarity to the production, and the entire cast had me in stitches throughout the performance!
This show was not only a riot but also served as a powerful reminder that women with voices undeniably deserve to be respected and heard. When we aren’t, you can be sure that there will be consequences. We are goddesses. Never forget it.
You can catch TEETH at New World Stages for a truly unforgettable experience that is sure to leave a lasting impression.
