maybe ally...sees "Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club”.

It took me a while to get to this show! But I'm so happy I did. Wow. That's the word I kept saying over and over. If you're a person who loves immersion you're going to love it in here. The August Wilson Theatre is completely transformed. The work done to turn it into The Kit Kat Club is nothing short of extraordinary.

➳♡ | The moment you arrive you're given a sticker to place over your phone camera. I get why. To fully feel like you're in a club the phone has to go away. There's a reason you don't see many club throwback club photos. You're supposed to be having fun. You will here with three beautiful bars as well as performers who do incredible numbers as you wait for the main show to start. You are able to walk freely and even to your seat early if you'd like. Be careful once the show begins if you're late you can't enter until intermission!

Eddie was amazing! Say what you will I find his Emcee to be quite fitting for the times. The decisions he's making as an actor to portray a subtle but growing darkness among the club and its patrons are stunning. The ever-growing issues in Berlin at the time were not overlooked or overshadowed. This show gets dark and it's not afraid to do so. I LOVED that.

I saw the show twice and thus was able to see both Gayle and Gabi as Sally Bowles. What a triumph both are. Compelling performances by both. It's an exceptional company doing amazing work with a story that gets increasingly uncomfortable. You should be uneasy by the end that's for sure.

Definitely see Cabaret at The Kit Kat Club for the fun but stay for the harrowing story. It's the kind that won't leave you happy of course. So please be ready for that. It will leave you thinking about how close we are to repeating history.
