BEST COATS & JACKETS FOR THE SEASON
Hey Guys & Dolls!
I hope everyone had a wonderful Happy New Year. I know the country (if you’re reading in the states) went backward while I was away so with that in mind I hope this post is a helpful distraction for you.
Today we are talking all about COATS & JACKETS! A favorite and required garment for the wintertime (for those who experience it at least). What kind of coat would you wear though? Your possibilities are endless.
Let’s take a look at some of my favorite styles and what kind of winter weather it would take to wear which style.
Peacoats: A Classic. It’s a tried and true favorite for many because it can be worn with virtually anything, you can dress them up or down and they will still do an exceptional job at keeping you warm. To dress up: put them on with thigh-high boots or with a thin scarf. To dress down: Sweats and some Uggs on a non-rain/snow day of course.
Puffer Jackets: This style is not one I wear often but is great during the months where it is SUPER cold out there. As I’ve gotten smaller in size I started to like this style more. My fear when I was bigger was how much bigger this style would make me look. Terrible I know but a fear I had. The North Face is usually the go-to for purchasing this style but ASOS and Fashion to Figure have puffer styles as well.
MotoJackets: This one is a toss-up for people. I LOVE it in the winter though with a sweater and a thin scarf! If you’re not going far you can wear just a tee-shirt with it and a beret for a cute chic look. The one I’m wearing in this post is from Nasty Gal and I actually think it might be a little small for me but not enough to not wear it.
Blazers: You can wear just a blazer in the winter. Albeit you wanna do it for a short period of time. I usually am ok with doing this when I know I’ll be inside most of the night or in a cab/taxi while traveling not too far. Much like the photo of me in the yellow blazer in this post you can pair yours with a print to make it pop more. Add jeans and some heels to make it feel chicer.
Different Styles, Different Times:
Like I said above depending on the weather you’ll wanna think about what kinda coat you’ll wear. Anything in the 50’s or up and a Sherpa jacket or a Moto jacket would work perfectly. If it’s any colder the Peacoat or the Puffer coat work best.
In the end it’s all a personal preference. Wear what you love!
