TRANSITIONING CLOTHES FOR COLDER WEATHER
Happy Monday Guys & Dolls!
I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! The weather is changing quickly, and with that, your closet and wardrobe need to change as well. I know I just switched out my spring-summer coats for my heavier winter ones recently, but there is more to do and more to shop for if you haven’t already done so.
Allow me to guide you a bit to what you may need to transition to colder weather seamlessly.
WEAR YOUR LAYERS:
The best rule you can follow when transitioning to colder weather is to lightly layer. You can try wearing a short-sleeved tee with a long-sleeved cardigan. A scarf can also be a great accessory to try for the cold a personal favorite I got a few years ago is SUPER THICK but very warm. Add style to your outfit with a little cold-weather layering.
SET UP YOUR CLOSET FOR SUCCESS:
Stock your closet with the basics. They are SO IMPORTANT for building your wardrobe up for the fall/winter. Assess your closet to see what’s missing then GO SHOPPING!. By having a variety of third pieces, for example, cardigans, vests, blazers, and scarves — you can pull an outfit together, that is practical and stylish for you. Short-sleeved and sleeveless tops are amazing for layering (like I mentioned above) try them with blazers and cardigans whenever the weather goes all over the place.
LIGHTER IS BETTER:
Let’s discuss breathable fabrics that can seamlessly take you from late winter into spring with ease. Find breathable items that are long-sleeved that can be worn solo or layered with a scarf, or a short-sleeve. I love breathable fabric because it doesn’t hold in a lot of heat. I love not sweating too much, do you? Cause ick! Try materials like cotton, linen, polyester, silk, and lightweight wools. Your goal is to find materials you can live in for hours at a time.
DON’T OVER DO IT:
Avoid wearing anything to into its season. In this case nothing to wintery…yet. You don’t really need the quilted puffer coats — unless we have a below-freezing kind of day. Go for pieces that speak to the time of year that matches the season. For fall try a lined trench coat or a suede jacket in popular fall colors like a deep red or brown. For the Winter try a puffer coat, heavy scarves, and LAYER! It’s about being practical and more season-appropriate with your wardrobe.
If you Implement these transition style tips your closet will be ready for the cold in NO TIME! You’ll have some creative and stylish pieces ready to go and you will ensure that you’ve got the look of Fall/Winter ready to go.
