Sensing A Theme Here…
What a fun weekend I had walking around Harlem wearing every single one of these Back to the Future t-shirts. Each one very cool in its own way.
D23 X Her Universe.
Her Universe had a booth at Disney’s ultimate fan event, D23 last weekend! They celebrated all things Disney & even debuted a collection of retro looks inspired by our favorite Disney characters! | SPONSORED
Ballerina Vibes.
You ever keep photos in the drafts because you didn't feel your best that day reflected in the photos? That's been me about this set for some time. What you don’t see is the crying I did about the day.
Neutrals.
What can I say I'm a true New Yorker. I wouldn't want color if it was the last outfit on earth. It's rare when I do and I've really goi@tta feel the outfit.
All Black Everything.
Promise you this outfit was put together weeks ago when it wasn't a hellscape outside! What can I say? I’m a true New Yorker. Neutrals are the name of the game and black is a staple not just an option. It was hot enough to try my lace top finally. I've been trying to figure out how to wear it and finally opted for all-black.
MidSize Shopping: Brands I'm Wearing Lately.
To be a size 12-14 is so challenging at times. I’m a Large in one store while I fit better in XL in others. I’ve gained some of my weight back from when I lost a ton 3 years ago so my sizing is really all over the place. I’m a solid 185lb right now and plan on loosing some as the end of the year approaches. If I could get to a 10-12 like I was in 2021 and maintain it I’m ok! This post isn’t about that though! It’s about where i’m shopping lately!
New York City Shopping: Where I Shop Around the City
New York City. Born & Raised. There truly is no place like it and for me — no place like home. For those who aren’t so familiar it can be pretty daunting trying to do anything here. I want to help you tackle at least one thing — SHOPPING!
The Sweetness.
Ask me how fast the jacket came off because of this heat. It's the one piece in my closet I couldn't figure out until one day I found myself building an athletic vibe but wanted to cover up just a little. I tried it for fun — inside my apartment with the AC blaring. I forgot that all bets are off once you step outside.
G.A.B. Until I Die, Happy 4th of July!
In all reality I wear this crop top often and I’m pretty sure I made my building manager very uncomfortable when I answered the door the other day in it. Ask me how many times in life I’ve been called a b**** I'd laugh and tell you plenty. While I can be passive, I can also set boundaries, stand my ground and speak up when I need to. If that makes me unbearable so be it. I don’t care.
She Wears Shorts.
You know me. I don't wear shorts often. I have thick thighs and while I love my Mega Babe chaffing stick sometimes I just don't wanna show the thighs off. I grabbed these shorts at NY&Co. & loved them so much. They've got a bit of a stretch to them that I love and navy always works well with my complexion. They are definitely good for the kind of weather we've been getting in NYC lately.
Just Float.
Oh, how this day felt good. It's always fun when the Attack on Titan jacket is the one that works best for the outfit. Got it at USJ in 2020 during Cool Japan and never looked back. It's rare when it gets worn but when it does it's good. I think its the color of the pants. A nice military green. Always works well with other earth tones.
She’s Got Color On!
Now if you have been here for a while you know I don't do this much color usually. In a sharp left turn, I decided to wear the brightest colors in my closet for a Spring/Summer transitional style that you could wear day or night. Love that the blazer is a lighter fabric. It's been so humid lately and I need breathable clothing or else I'm not doing it! Don't care what it is!
Mickey’s Girl.
Forever his girl. What can I say? Whenever possible I take the opportunity to throw on a Disney style just for the fun of it and this day was no different. I initially wanted to wear high heels with no socks but that got shot down once I tried the knee highs on. Loafers had to be the shoe of choice and I had just the pair to wear.
It’s Vest Season.
Could you believe that vests are back? When I read that I kind of got a little mad. Why you ask? Because it's no secret I'm heavy-chested so whenever this trend makes a comeback I find it hard to wear unless I'm buying a vest two sizes bigger than I need to. It's annoying but I manage when I can. In this case, I didn't manage.
Dark but Flirty.
The Spring vibes are definitely winding down. As the weather gets warmer I'm starting to put the jackets & blazers away but before I do I'm taking the ones I didn't get to wear much out for a spin like this cropped military green blazer from Old Navy that I love so much. It didn't get a lot of action this season. I found it hard to match things in my closet for some reason but loved it in this dress on a random errand day.
Polka Dot Lady.
Guys & Dolls it's hot outside today. I'm not prepared for that at all. I'm still in full spring-style swing. 82* today. That's when the real New Yorker comes out of me. How many times could I say “Oh Nahhhh” until I am back inside? Today's outfit will be interesting that's for sure. But until I have to deal with it I'll remember the good times in this polka dot dress.
Purple Girl.
Ok. If you've been here a while you know purple is my favorite color. You know I love a casual dress and you know I love any excuse for photos all over Harlem. I wasn't feeling my best that day.
Spring Fight Back!
Didn't think I'd have to try and convince Mother Nature to be more consistent. It's giving men lately am I wrong? Still, in the moments that she shines brightest, I get glimpses of what my spring wardrobe could be & get excited at the prospect of not wearing heavy jackets for a little while!
DVF X Target Collection.
Gotta say. I love this collection. I didn't pick up as much as I wanted and there is still one piece that needs a photo but I love how bold the prints are. I love that the sizing went way up. I love that classic wrap dresses were features and I super loved a lot of the home decor. If I knew how to get some of the home decor home I would have gladly bought it. I just love the designer collaborations at Target. It gives us a chance to afford something a little finer.
Orange Vibes.
What do you think New York City? Think spring is finally showing her face or not? Because I think she finally trying and in honor, I wear a color I usually don't do. ORANGE. I don't know something about it always scares me. Sometimes orange can wash me out especially if I've tanned. So the brighter the better for me. Unless it's that long pleated burnt orange skirt from H&M. Then I can pull orange off with no problem.
