maybe ally…sees “Monty Python’s Spamalot”.
Back in 2005, I was a freshman in college and making crazy life choices so I didn't get to see the original Broadway production. After a lot of tours and a stint on the West End later we got to the 2023 revival and I grabbed tickets thankfully just a few weeks shy before its closure (too early if you ask me! Even if it was a limited engagement!).
🏰 | I haven't laughed so hard in a long time but that's what you're expecting with anything Monty Python related. To take this seriously is your downfall. This is a show you have fun with. There was a couple sitting in front of me and the joy I had watching them quietly recite lines and sing along was so precious. You're supposed to enjoy something so silly this way. What a pleasure it was to experience this production with such a lively audience. Eric Idle’s music & lyrics still shine and that entire company is staked! My goodness! James Monroe Iglehart, Leslie Rodriguez (hey twin!) Kritzer, Ethan Slater, Alex Brightman, Nik Walker! These are people I love. These are people who understand the material. The shows are all the better for it.
There isn't much time left to see this production but if you manage to in the next week go have a great night on Broadway. With all my personal issues at the moment, it was nice to escape for a bit and laugh, sing & look on the bright side of life.
Thanks for the laughs @spamalotbway 👑
