MY BIRTHDAY AT DISNEY WORLD!

In my first post back from vacation, I wanted to talk a bit about my birthday and how magical it was. Two days prior to the love of my life Armand asked me to marry him, and I happily agreed. Now we (mostly me) had been searching for a reservation to Be Our Guest for MONTHS prior and finally was able to get one for dinner. I actually cried tears of joy because I knew that finding that and on my birthday of all days was simply perfect. I thought he’d propose then (I, of course, was wrong).

Upon entering you are greeted by a delightful waiter and are given a rundown of items on the menu. It’s important to note that there are three places in Beast’s castle that you can eat. The West Wing, The Rose Gallery, and the Ballroom. We were seated in the Ballroom area and let me tell you it was stunning. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen a place so pretty. When I made the reservation I noted my shellfish allergy and the folks at Disney were quite ok with it. So after some time with Jose our amazing waiter who helped us out with wine pairings, we decided on what we wanted to eat. For starters, Armand had the French Onion Soup which featured Toasted Crouton, Gruyère, and Provolone. I had the Assorted Meats and Artisanal Cheese Selection. It wasn’t my personal favorite but I did like enough of it to eat it. I wasn’t going to eat that chicken liver I tell you that much!

For our main entree, Armand had the Spice-dusted Lamb Chops which featured Roasted Salsify, Baby Zucchini, Charred Tomatoes, and Royal Trumpet Mushrooms with a Lamb Demi, while I had the Center-cut Filet Mignon which had Robuchon Yukon Potatoes, Seasonal Vegetables, and Cipollini Marmalade with a Red Wine Glaze. It was amazing. I haven’t had a filet that good in years. The meat was very moist and rich in flavor. I couldn’t have asked for more plus the red wine glaze was just perfect it was sweet and savory. Finally, for dessert there was the cutest little trio set up that featured: Almond Macaron with Lemon Jam and Raspberries, White Chocolate "Chip" Cup with Grey Stuff (THAT INDEED WAS DELICIOUS!) and Crisp Pearls, and a Dark Chocolate Truffle filled with Dark Chocolate Grand Marnier Ganache. I didn’t love the Almond Macaron much as I’m not a lover of raspberries but everything else I loved. LOVED.

Finally, after dinner we were able to meet The Beast himself! what a joy it was to meet him as he’s on the rare size for meet and greets at Disney (you literally will only meet him here most of the year). It was all just a perfect dream of a day, and the night was even crazier (but that’s a story for another day). Take a look at some photos below of our time at Be Our Guest.
