Fall Fashion 2024: Trends to Watch

Inspired by workwear, utility chic is a major trend this Fall. Think cargo pants, combat boots, and functional jackets with multiple pockets. Funnel Necks are also very popular this season. They aren’t my personal favorite but I love them on taller people as a funnel tends to elongate. This trend is all about practicality meets fashion.

Leather is always a Fall favorite, but this season it's more luxurious than ever. From sleek trench coats to statement handbags, luxe leather adds a touch of sophistication to any outfit. We've seen leather before but never like this. Pants, jackets, and skirts have all been trends before but now, leather tops are taking over! I’m on a quest to find one that works for my large chest so we shall see how I do during the fall season.

Ditch the brights and bolds, this Fall is all about earthy tones. Think olive green, terracotta, and mossy green. These natural hues evoke a sense of warmth and coziness, perfect for the season. 5. Statement Sleeves/Skirts

Make a statement with oversized, puffy, or ruffled sleeves. This trend adds drama and flair to any outfit, from dresses to tops and jackets. You could also try the bubble trend. Anything round-shaped with a bubble silhouette works perfectly! They elevate any style.

6. Metallic Accents

Add a touch of glamour with metallic accents like gold, silver, and copper. From hardware to embroidery, metallic details elevate your outfits and make them shine. Pendant necklaces are an easy way to elevate your look. Find something with gold or silver (mix them if you’d like!) with a semi-large pendant. Get them on the longer side. I love the ones that go below my breasts.

7. Sporty/Comfortable

Say goodbye to stilettos and hello to comfortable shoes. From sneakers to ankle boots, this Fall is all about footwear that's both stylish and practical. With that means more sporty elements in your wardrobe. Try instead of a whole tracksuit to wear just half of one and style the other. Polo shirts also fit this trend as well as soccer jerseys.

8. Plaid, Stripes & Leopard Print Oh My!

Classic Fall patterns like plaid and stripes make a comeback. Mix and match different textures and colors to add visual interest to your outfits. The shocker for me is the leopard print. It’s very much a 90’s trend making a comeback hard! Try it on accessories first if the print feels too loud for you or go all out with a catsuit for some fun.

9. Oversized Coats

Wrap up in style with oversized coats that make a statement. From puffy jackets to luxurious trenches, this trend is all about staying warm and stylish.

10. Sustainable Fashion

Finally, Fall 2024 fashion is all about sustainability. Invest in timeless pieces, shop second-hand, and choose brands that prioritize eco-friendliness. Within this trend give optical lenses a try too. Not everyone needs them of course so if you do try make sure they are just the frame and no prescription. You could easily find these in thrift shops all over NYC. I’d also look for vintage denim at thrift shops as well. Bell bottoms are a favorite but anything that looks pretty worn in will look perfect as well.
