What I Wore in Chicago.
It was no secret that I was going to shop while in Chicago. What I didn’t expect was to find quite a few affordable classics that I now wear here in NYC pretty frequently.
Let’s go through the 4 stand-out pieces I got & one I left behind!
Purchased at: Zara
I Love this skirt! It is a skirt with a high elastic waistband. I love the Front slit at hem. It’s a cute detail that makes the skirt a lot sexier. The Metallic thread detail is a nice touch and works for all your Beyonce concert needs! LOL.
I have a bit of a belly, but I also don’t care if it’s seen. I’d wear with but with a thong next time to avoid underwear lines.
Purchased at: Target, A New Day™
Ok, these High-Rise Regular Fit Tapered Ankle Knit Pants from A New Day™ fit in my Chicago rotation perfectly. They are a bit thick with a little wool in them, so I wore them on the days where it wasn’t too hot outside.
Early in the trip I realized I had way too much denim and needed to give my thighs a break. These came in handy, and I paired them with a grey crop top (that I talk about below! & a white tee I had gotten from Her Universe last year. My thighs thanked me. Trust me.
Purchased at: Target, Universal Thread™
This bag saved me! I needed something with a spacious main compartment for carrying all the extra stuff I bought while in Chicago. I needed something with Exterior and interior pockets for my small essentials as well. I saw this at the Gothic Target and knew it was THE ONE. The zip closure in the main pocket keeps my items from falling out. My favorite thing though? the double shoulder handles for comfortable, convenient carrying.
I wear this bag everywhere now.
Purchased at: Target, Wild Fable™
This Short-sleeve cropped T-shirt from Wild Fable™ was not only very affordable & comfy but was a great pairing with that silver skirt I bought at Zara. I ended up pairing the two on a night out with a girlfriend. It’s got a tailored fitted silhouette & a length that hits above the waist. I’ve got a big chest so It was a true crop top for me but was made better with a bra of course. It’s made from a soft fabric blend with a hint of stretch that really helped make me feel comfy while out on the town. It also features a classic crew neckline and a solid hue. Making it something I pair with many things in my closet. For only $5 I say I won!
Now What did I leave behind? If you look below, I’m wearing a collared sweater combo from Primark in a shot. I left that in the hotel room as I never wore it past that night but more importantly, I couldn’t fit it anywhere. It was bulky and thick, and the collar kept unfolding. It made me itch as well. It just wasn’t something I wanted to keep, and I had no time to return it. So, I left a note to staff letting them know it was worn once (left the receipt) and to donate it if they could.
So What do you think of my favorite pieces?
