maybe ally...sees "Lempicka”.
Oh, Lempicka. You dazzling, electrifying work of art that you are. The impact you made (at least for myself) will not go unnoticed. You weren't given a fair chance to build the audience you deserved. The kind of audience that absolutely would have been here 8 times a week to enjoy the spectacle of it all. The art. The movement. The movement. The force. You closed far too early. How lucky I was to just get in. To be at that last Wednesday matinee.
🎨 | To tell the tale of one Tamara De Lempicka is no small feat. Tamara was a goddess in my eyes. A master artist of the 20th century. One Matt Gould & Carson Kreitzer took on with determination & passion like no other. Together with Eden Espinosa as their Lempicka. Years developing and shaping this project to get it to a Broadway stage. They did it. They got it there. Those are just three of the many names who sacrificed so much to get this story to a Broadway stage. Every one of them is all the better in life for it. Amber Iman is a force. My eyes and my ears couldn't keep away from her. How captivating. It's beyond me how George Abud was left out of Tonys contention. I can't fathom it. He's exceptional.
One can only hope this show finds its way to tour one day. It's too important not to try and share with more of the public. More of the world. It's a story worth telling. Tamara’s got such rich history. It's always worth sharing stories of people who don't always get the chance to. To give voice to true artists. Don’t sell them short. Their visions are important.
Long live Lempicka. 🖤
