maybe ally…Shops Plus Size in Japan.

Oh Boy, Guys & Dolls I had the toughest time while in Japan finding anything in my size. It was a growing problem as I tried to navigate all the fashions I loved but couldn’t buy because none of it was my size. The only real places I could find my size were big corporate brands with clothing that didn’t fit my style at all. After googling a bit more I found one back near where we were staying in Osaka that worked perfectly. I wanted to buy so much! Ultimately just getting what I came in for, a new coat. I also got a brown skirt that fits wonderfully and that I’ve already worn in several shoots. Brown is a color that’s been lacking in my closet so I’m happy to incorporate it more.

In the blog 'i’ll post a few locations for you to shop in Japan as well as my reactions to the one place I was able to shop in Osaka. Follow along!!

Let me first introduce to you Supure Large Size. It’s in Osaka and was my saving grace on this trip. Re.J Supure is a huge company (with multiple locations). They carry up to a 4XL. It was a fabulous place that was walking distance from the hotel. We didn’t know it at the time but it’s inside the train station! There was a whole plaza down thereof food and clothing stores. I was so happy to finally have a look at things that were my size and were VERY CUTE. Had I had my own money I would have gotten so much more. I loved so many things there.

They do have a website but I don’t believe they ship internationally. I saw skirts, jeans, jackets & much more. Lots of bows and ruffles and softer materials. Sizes are from X, 1X, 3X, 5X. I found that depending on what I was trying on I was in between a 1X and 3X for this company. The people were quite friendly as well which made the experience all the better.

I was unable to find any reliable places in Tokyo due to time constraints and where we would be at the time. I mostly found plus sizes in larger chain stores that just didn’t fit my style. I also found some amazing pieces at Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea. Below are a few photos of what I purchased.

In all, I feel like your better bet is Osaka if you plan on doing both Tokyo and Osaka. In Tokyo, you’ll end up at the bigger chains. It’s just a matter of fact. Even when you do a Google search, the forums will say all the big chains! I keep repeating myself but it just made me very upset. I was so looking forward to shopping a whole lot but it doesn’t feel as if the culture will allow for it. There are man articles speaking about this too that I didn’t read and should have admittedly. That’s on me.
