You know that feeling you have when a show finishes and you wish you could see it for the 1st time again? That's how I felt after seeing @akimbomusical on Broadway the other night. Goodness me did I feel loved, warm, & so happy to be in this life and willing to live it to the fullest. That's what Kimberly Akimbo does to you. Especially that ending. Never felt more at ease with how I approach the world and all the things I wanna do in it.

✨ | 1999 in New Jersey. Teenagers before cell phones. One who ages faster than her actual age. The hardships that come with that. I went back to my high school days many times (some good memories and some not-so-good) and I remember exactly how Kimberly felt. Meeting new friends, liking a boy & the inevitable science project. It got a little too relatable at points. Happy to not think about High School ever again if possible. Still, Victoria Clark brought energy and vibrancy to Kimberly and made me feel — everything.

Boy do I get why they won the Tony for Best Musical last year. The message was beautiful, the music was fun and endearing & that cast. My goodness. Victoria! Bonnie! Miguel! I could keep going but you get it. What a special story for them to tell. I left with tears in my eyes ready to take on the world much like Kimberly was able to…

Now who wants to go to Disney World with me? IYKYK.

You've got until April 28th to enjoy this very special musical. So happy I got to. Lucky me. My moms making sure I get to see everything this year. Love it.
