maybe ally…sees “Girl From the North Country”.

So I didn't get the chance to see this off-broadway in 2018 and certainly didn't get to in 2020 when it made its Broadway debut but I always kept this musical in the back of my mind. So when I accidentally entered a lottery for tickets a few things happened:

I realized what I’d done and sorta kicked myself a bit.
I made a plan in case I won… and then I won.

✨ | It's touring for the first time and because of my tiny mistake, I got a full day in Philly along with a beautiful show with beautiful music out of it. It takes place in Duluth during the winter of 1934 as America is in the grip of the Great Depression. It follows the Laine family as they navigate this very difficult era of American history. Their story is accompanied by music from the one & only Bob Dylan. 28 different songs were used and were woven into the story nicely. That entire company had my heart. They were all amazing in their ways. I like to think each one of them held a different part of me.

It's a special show. I'm happy my little mistake got me to see it. It isn't my first time watching shows that are touring. Every time I travel within the U.S. I always look to see if any shows are playing wherever I'm at. I love theatre that much. I have so much love for craft.

Until the next one…

It might be sooner than you think.
