maybe ally…packs for Tokyo!
Backpack:
It is maybe the most important thing I’ll be bringing with me because it’s going to carry my many of my important belongings. The plan is to carry at least a days worth of belongings since we are checking in most of our bags (in case they get delayed we have things for a few days). I like a light backpack and so my Loungefly bag featuring The Little Mermaid was a perfect choice as it’s pretty wide inside but is light, and has padding on the straps in case I do make it heavier and need the support.

Wallet:
I usually carry a larger wallet in my regular bag but for trips I use a more compact style because I don't need all the every day stuff like store cards etc. I just carry the basics. I also want to share something I didn't know was even a thing until recently.. most banks allow you to order currencies from other countries before an international trip. So we have been able to stock up on yen before leaving, that way we will have cash ready when we arrive.
Tech:
My flight will be 14 hours plus an additional 2 hours to get to Tokyo from South Korea. Headphones are quite important because I have severe anxiety when It comes to flying and I need distractions. This is where the type of headphones is important. I only have the “in-ear” headphones but need to buy over the ear styles for the flights. In-Ear styles would hurt after a while in the ear. So, for now, I’ll link to my current headphones but if you ever travel for long periods of time get THESE instead.

Another must is my external battery. I WILL BE TAKING SEVERAL WITH ME! This is great for traveling but mainly important for long days traveling around Tokyo, and even it’s Disney parks. I’ll need juice for my photos, videos & much more. There are a million different styles out there but I'd recommend this one the most.
Shop it HERE.
Lastly, my phone of course! I have an iPhone XS (the smaller of the two newer styles). It takes some amazing high-quality photos and videos. We will also take our camera for more professional shots but the phone will be my go-to. It’ll make Instagramming easier that’s for sure!

Reading Material:
As much as I love audiobooks, I'm still a sucker for a classic book. There’s something to be told about the smell of a book and it’s pages turning. I’m currently reading Walking with the Muses by legendary model Pat Cleveland as well as GRACE: A Memoir by Grace Coddington. I love fashion books and stories. I shop at Bookmarc (Marc Jacobs bookstore in the West Village) all the time you will find so many great books there!.

Health/Beauty:
A few beauty items I MUST HAVE in my carry on are Face wipes, hand lotion, moisturizer for my face, travel-sized deodorant, travel-sized toothbrush/ toothpaste, and moisturizing eye drops. TIP: You don’t wanna wear heavy makeup for longer flights. You face will get cakey and you will not be cute by the time you land. Remember my flight is 16 hours totally (both flights) so you need a fresh face. Once it’s announced that I’m close I’ll start putting some makeup on (lips and eyebrows mostly).
A few health-related items would be vitamins, Advil, Emergen-C packs for immune health. OH! and I’ll be in Japan so medical masks are a must too. I’m hoping to not get sick but if I were I’d need these in a heartbeat. We are going to be there for two full weeks so we plan on bringing it all!
Passport:
You literally can’t do a thing without it! Mine is inside a Little mermaid passport holder from Danielle Nicole that I got a year ago at ShopDisney.com
