Spring Style Recap!
Styles I tried this Spring:
1: Catsuit
The biggest question for me was “can I be comfortable in this?”. I quickly decided to throw the paranoia away and just go for it. A lot of us can be afraid of our “tummy pouches” “rolls” or “nonflat tummy”. I always say wear what you feel good in. That’s it.
I found one on @amazonfashion and I found it to be…comfortable!? It’s pretty stretchy and of course, a little long for me cause I’m petite. But it worked. Then I decided to style it and went for 70’s rocker with a fisherman’s cap and faux leather skirt.
2: Structured Shorts:
Springtime means you get to wear a little less and for me that usually means shorts! Not so short though! Just above the knee is all I need (hey I rhymed!).
Depending on how you wanna style it you can try something like me with a classic tee, and a blazer but you can also have some fun with it and try a Moto jacket or sneakers.
3: Mixed Styles:
Spring is arguably the craziest season to figure out in terms of styles. You never quite know what you wanna wear because the weather can be very chaotic. So you end up mixing styles. Sometimes it works other times you end up like me in these photos!
I tried the style with a graphic tee that I knotted to show off the belly a bit. It gets a bit more elevated as you go down. I wouldn’t say formal but I would say professional. If I’d worn a button-down it would scream “workday”. It’s a mixture of the brown but also my oxfords which until recently were seen as a shoe associated with elevated style. Nowadays you can find these bad boys paired with jeans and a newsboy cap! But it all works!
4: Mini Skirts
Tis the season for any skirt that goes above the knee! That’s right the higher the better. Thank that Miu Miu miniskirt for the resurgence in the style. I know you’ve seen it everywhere. It won’t be going away anytime soon. So if you wanna try the trend learn to love not bending.
5: Wear Your Wedding Dress!
I practically screamed when I saw Emma Stone rewear a dress she wore on her wedding day to the #metgala last night! WHY? Because I had seen the trend around for a few months now and literally last weekend worked the courage to wear mine outside just to wear it!
Would you believe it if I told you that yes it’s a spring trend? Those who have wedding dresses (or suits hello!) give it a go. Make sure you change it up with accessories. I went for a brown motif with a splash of bohemian. What do you think!?
