CELEBRATING 35 MAGICAL YEARS!
Hey Guys & Dolls! How did your weekend go? Mine was pretty amazing honestly. I turned 35 on Saturday and we had a wonderful albeit COLD day! We stay in mostly and watched movies and eat well. We decided to move our plans to Sunday which would be much warmer.
SO ON SUNDAY…
I had the privilege and pleasure of visiting “Inspiring Walt Disney: The Animation of French Decorative Arts” this weekend at The Met. It’s an incredible exhibit works from 18th-Century European Decorative arts and designs alongside 150 production artworks from the Walt Disney Animation Research Library. Work from films such as “Sleeping Beauty”, “Beauty & the Beast” & “Cinderella” are featured. The exhibition highlights the references to European culture within these films. The Rococo-inspired objects in Beauty & the Beast, the Gothic Revival of Cinderella & the medieval period in Sleeping Beauty. All fantastic pieces of work. It was wonderful to see pieces from the Baroque period as well.
Now there were no pictures or videos allowed but I’m a firm believer that all art should be shared. It’s a personal belief that I don’t expect everyone to understand. So let me be the rule breaker and you follow the rules if you see this exhibit.
On display until March 6th. If you miss it NO WORRIES. If you search on YouTube you’ll find a 30 min walk-along video of the entire exhibit with a plethora of knowledge from the curator of the exhibit. Worth a watch!!
It was a wonderful weekend full of love, joy & magic. No other way for me to do it.
Much Love,
